Interesting place. Saw the signs along I 70 for foot high pie. My wife had chocolate; I had coconut...good tasting pie. There were 15 pies to choose from. Easy in and out, clean dining and rest rooms. Full menu...something for everyone.

This is the sweetest little local cafe, with wonderful home cooked meals, $7.98 lunches and Incredible Pies!!!! I cannot understate the deliciousness of the pies. The restaurant calls them "foot high" but the size is not the real story. My first trip I had the chocolate cream pie and my husband had the apple. The second trip, my husband had the banana cream and I had the strawberry rhubarb. We agreed that they were the tastiest of those flavor of pies we had ever had.

I have always wanted to stop here on my way to and from Springfield MO to visit a friend and finally did last weekend. On Friday, I had the cheeseburger and fries and on Sunday- the chocolate pie and coffee. Wonderful service and everything was so good. It made my long drive much more enjoyable.

Found this famous little gem while headed west for Christmas and let's say the mythical "Foot High" Pie does exist and does not disappoint. The service was friendly and the coffee was fresh but the Pie is truly worthy of note. I do regret not having an opportunity to try the menu or sample more Pie but I can assure everyone that I'd always make this a stop.

Large portions of everything at a great price!

A locals' place right off the highway 70. (Exit 30). Cafe food..mixed reviews from our group mesh to good. Very noisy at lunch when there are lots of customers. Known for their tall meringue pies.

Great homemade favorites and sides. It is just like grandmas house every day. Or if you are like us, just order one slice of each pie and share. So good!
Joseph Bryant
Wonderful food. Mile high pies. Everythings tastes fresh and homemade. Can't say enough good things. Do remember they don't take cards though.

The "foot-high pie" and "as seen on Food Network" billboards got me as I was traveling along. Cute spot, but the waiter wasn't very enthused I was only getting pie and a cup of coffee. The banana cream (and other meringue pies) is beautiful! But a bit too sweet for my tastes. Really nice selection of fruit pies available, as well. $10 for pie, coffee and tip wasn't too bad, I guess, in 2019. Wish I had loved it, but I even though I didn't I would give them another shot to try a meal based on this go.

Our family loves this amazing diner. Their meals, served family style are yummy and a great deal for the money! Large portions and great home made flavors. Looking for a great sitdown meal then stop here. Then take home a few peices of pie!!

The food and service was Great! I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, mashed potatoes and coleslaw. Saved room for a slice of lemon meringue pie, which was more sweet than tart, but good! Very inviting, and lots of seating.

The food was excellent! Most of us had the all you can eat walleye and shrimp, a great deal. The fried chicken is also great.

Very homestyle food. The food is mostly fried but quite good, it is very much a comfort food sort of place. The real gem is the foot high pies. They have so much meringue and are very indulgent but are a nice treat

Extremely generous servings plus refills. Terrific if you want to pig out.

Awesome! Cash only but TOTALLY WORTH IT. The gizzards are huge, juicy, and tender - the best I've had out in a long time. I got about 25 gizzards which is great for the price. The side veggies of potatoes, german slaw, beets, and green beans were perfect and delicious. The pies are fantastic and wonderful for dessert with coffee. 10/10 will definitely go again!

Been here several times over the years and find the food to be basic and similar each time. The food is served home style, nothing to brag about, but plain and tasty and inexpensive. The pies served here are quite good with a wide variety of tastes. I'm not aware of alcoholic beverages being available, could be though?Facilities are convenient and clean, service is friendly and prompt. The seating is basic farm style wooden straight back chairs and tables and a few wooden booths. Very plain and basic, sort of 1940 era. So if plain and simple is your thing, here's your place.Choice of menu meats are wide ranging, mostly fried and everything is country style. Nothing fancy but quite friendly.

Always a very good experience at Blue Springs. Quality food with a homestyle experience and great service. Couldn't ask for more, and will visit again in the future.

My good friend took me here to eat. Absolutely the best friend chicken dinner I've ever had!! Great customer service, lovely atmosphere and wonderful food. Five out of five stars!! Charming country restaurant!

Fun family style place with home cooking. Of course I like my mama's better but the food was fresh, served hot and went left with enough for 2 meals. Kids approved. I appreciated the simple menu.
Dan Staifer
Great pie. Able to take a whole to go. Cash only however.

The service was not great. And the pie? The famous pie? Was pretty much a store bought meringue pie mix. Small town timer feel, kinda cool but not spectacular food by any means

My wife and I love this place. We time our travels to be able to stop for a meal at the Blue Springs Cafe. I enjoy their plate of chicken and my observations are there are a lot of other patrons that do too. And of course there is the Foot-High Pie. Yes, they are a cream pie. Along side is traditional pies. I prefer the chocolate cream pie while my wife orders the coconut cream. We call the day before arriving and order a chocolate-chip pecan pie and a peach pie to go. Prices are fair, portions are generous, well worth the stop.

Local diner with all meals for $ 8.00. Friendly staff with down home food. Bought a blueberry pie to take home. The pie was awesome.

This place blew me away. Huge portions. Delicious food. Friendly staff. I highly recommend the lasagna and apple pie for dessert!

Great service. A wide selection on the menu, all very good.

Disappointed. We were drawn in by the advertising, that remindered us of Food Network highlighting them. Our experience was not what we hoped for. Bad service, lack luster food, pies were not that flavorful. My coconut pie was hard with strings on coconut in the tough filling. Our coleslaw was unlike any we had ever had, not in a good way. It was slaw in a pool of vinegar and maybe lemon. I did enjoy the cozy feel and clean restrooms. But the bad experience was topped off by the statement "we don't use cards" the ATM charges $3 to get cash. No where did the establishment let you know that you would need cash. I will not make this a stop on my travels.

This is one of the best places I have ever eaten! The food Exceptionally Great. You get a lot of food. It is all Good. The biscuits, the Cole slaw, the green beans, the mashed potatoes, gravy and the Walleye. ALL EXCELLENT!! This is the first time I have been there. Server was very polite and asked if this was my first time. He explained everything to me and I was a little overwhelmed. I was completely satisfied!! I recommend BLUE SPRINGS CAFE, The experience was 5 STARS. I forgot to mention the FOOT HIGH PIES. MMMMMMMMMMMM GOOD!!! I WILL BE GOING BACK.

I go here every time I'm in the area and love it each time. The friendliness of the staff and the country style dishes makes this the best after-church meal you can find!
Bob Toler
Nice clean friendly place. Food was great with plenty of it. Priced right and staff were great.

Unique and inviting, Blue Springs Cafe serves a delightful variety of home-cooked goodness.
Shay Hamper
Very good home cooking and family style
Jill Brooks
Very nice casual atmosphere. Great service, friendly staff. Very reasonable prices. All around good family restaurant. Good food...real mash potatoes, homestyle cooking, known for the foot high pies! Lunch specials for 7.95 includes 2 sides...very reasonable! Good portions. I had the porkchop meal and my friend had the chicken lunch...both were excellent! We did not try the foot high pies, although we did share the chocolate pecan pie warm with ice cream and it was delicious!
Katherine Vela
Absolutely loved this place! Absolutely delicious, and affordable. Only downside is that they only take cash or checks. They do have an ATM that charges a $3 fee. But their food is all homemade and the pie it delicious. Thanks Food Network for the recommendation. We will definitely dine again and again.

Always stop when we are in the area. Their prices, service, and food quality can't be beat.

Wow! I donΓ’β¬β’t know what took so long to stop by this gem. Had chicken fried steak. It was wonderful. The gravy was amazing! Great service Γ°ΕΈΛβ¬must have cash!!!! They DO NOT take credit cards. Does have ATM in restaurant.
Robert Bollman
Awesome buffet. Food I haven't had for a very long time and forgot how much I liked. Simply fantastic!
Jack Epley
Excited we found this hidden gem! We enjoyed the Prime rib buffet and it was awesome!!!! Super friendly and tentative staff. Clean rest rooms, clean tables! Bring cash or a ATM card and save room for huge slices of pumpkin pie for dessert.

For everybody who has ever cruised Interstate 70 in Western Illinois and spotted those hand-painted, weather-faded roadside signs proclaiming "Foot-Hi Pies!", the Blue Springs Cafe is everything those words make you envision. Located right off the highway in Highland, IL, the Blue Springs Cafe is a classic family-operated restaurant the likes of which are rapidly disappearing from American culture. The menu is the epitome of hearty, home cooked favorites served in massive portions. The pies are huge, diverse and delicious. Prices are extremely reasonable and the atmosphere is "homey". NOTE: They DO NOT accept credit cards; only cash or checks. There is an ATM on the premises. It's worth a stop just to say you've been there but the food and service are worth every penny. (I am not a robot and nobody paid me for this review).

Excellent place! Your selection of food plus 2 sides, served family style, delicious biscuits! Good prices. Giant servings! Beer available but their homemade pies are their signature! DELICIOUS! Beautiful restaurant!
Valerie Stephan
So homey and delicious! Stopped here on a road trip and we're so glad we did! Choose your entree from the wall mounted menus and each meal comes with all you can eat family style biscuits and apple butter, pepper cabbage, pickled beets, mashed potatoes and gravy. We had so many leftovers, including the mile high pie. We had chocolate & lemon meringue-- they both were excellent but the lemon is something else! Service was so friendly, and with that wallpaper it was like stepping into somebody's Nanas house.
Susan Smith-Harmon
Good home cooking and fantastic pies! Service is always great too. Portions are generous and sides are served family style.
Nancy Marin-Rojas DDS
Lunch specials $7.95 includes 2 side with numerous choices. Nice diner off US 70, tasty picked beets. Mile high pies are awesome!
Debra Richter
They have a great lunch for $7.99. Very filling. And the pie is always great.

Something for everyone! All scratch cooking that was delicious! Strawberry rhubarb pie close to Grandmas. Would definitely recommend!

I noticed this sign on my way to St. Louis so I decided to stop by here on my way home and it will not disappoint. Their food is absolutely amazing and at a reasonable price. I tried their coconut cream pie, chocolate meringue pie, and apple pie with my kids. I was weary at paying $5/slice at first since an entire pie is $17, but it was definitely worth it! Not to mentioned, the customer service is outstanding! They only take cash or check, but they have an atm in the restaurant.
Indiana Homestead
Chicken was ok. Price idea 1 adult 1 child with water as beverage and 1 whole pie to go $36. Pie was delicious. Bad news cash or check only and if you don't notice beforehand, their ATM charges a $3 convenience fee.
Scot Bowman
The food is great, especially the pie. The crust is fantastic! The fruit pies have real fruit, not just colored gel. The meringue pies are beautiful! If you are in Illinois and heading west on 70 you to need to stop.
